Family Day Fun

felted ball workshopIf you’re one of our regulars, you already know that we often like to think of ourselves as “craft camp for grown-ups”. In fact, one of the reasons DIY or DIE!!! exists is because we believe that just because you’re old enough to drink doesn’t mean you need to put away childish things – really, we’d like to see the craft world shed its “childish” image altogether! That being said, we also know that making things together is a great way to stay connected to the people you care about, whether they’re new acquaintances, old friends, or family members (families that craft together, stay tog… wait, is that how the saying goes?). That’s why we’ve got a 2-for-1 special edition of our Felted Ball Workshop this Family Day (Monday, February 10th, 2014) from 1:00-3:00 at Bird On A Wire Creations: sign up an adult, and bring along a kid for free! We’ve made these colourful little balls at community events like Car Free Day and Maker Faire, and they’re always a hit with kids. We love this craft because making felted balls is a relatively easy skill to pick up, and once it’s been learned it can become the basis for a myriad of different projects. Check out these adorable acorns, this simple home d├ęcor project, this rug, or these awesome baby toys if you’re looking for some inspiration. Please register in advance to book your seat!
